Golf hypnosis can provide a quicker and easier way to train yourself in the mental aspects of this wonderful game. Hypnosis provides access to your subconscious or inner mind. This is the part of your mind that acts automatically and instinctively and this is why sports hypnosis will help accelerate the rapid establishment of positive mental habits.
Golf Hypnosis concentrates on communicating with your unconscious mind and the changes you implement unconsciously become part of your automatic or involuntary responses. You don’t have to analyze them to use them. In fact, you don’t even need to remember them consciously.
To understand how golf hypnosis works you must first understand a little bit about your brainwaves. Research using an electroencephalography, or EEG, has revealed that the human mind oscillates between 4 predominate brainwaves; beta, alpha, theta, and delta. Beta brainwaves, which are short and fast, occur when you are fully awake and alert. On the opposite end of the spectrum there are delta brainwaves which occur when you are deep asleep and unconscious. In between these two are alpha and theta brainwaves. Alpha brainwaves are associated with relaxed awareness similar to daydreaming or performing in the zone on the golf course. While theta brainwaves are connected with light stages of sleep, deep hypnosis, and meditation. Research has also shown that alpha and theta brainwaves are the ones associated with learning, and the predominate brainwaves we used as children when we achieved big feats of learning like how to speak a language.
